Agencies may require a bachelor's degree or related experience in computer science, computer engineering, or network engineering. Individuals may gain entry into this career through Computer Assistant or Technician roles. IT professionals are also employed in several of the other careers such as Intelligence Analysis, Information Services, and Security.
US citizenship is required. All applicants must successfully complete an extensive background investigation. Some positions may also require medical and psychological examinations and a polygraph interview.
